This year, 412 students from Colorado competed against 23,700 students nationwide in the annual AAA Travel High School Challenge, a competition aimed at improving knowledge of world destinations and building awareness of career opportunities in travel and tourism.
The 2007 contest enters its final phase in May, as the state champions and their chaperones go to the national finals in Orlando, Fla., where they will compete for more than $100,000 in college scholarships and prizes.
AAA Colorado would like to congratulate the following Colorado students who became the five state finalists: Andreas B. Bjorkman, grade 12, Fort Collins High School, Fort Collins; Robert W. Dong, grade 11, Poudre High School, Fort Collins; Cory Weinstein, grade 10, Highlands Ranch High School, Highlands Ranch; Alex Przedpelski, grade 11, Monarch High, Louisville; Jennifer M. Campbell, grade 12, Woodland Park High School, Divide.
As EnCompass went to print, Cory Weinstein was declared Colorado's state champion. Congratulations to all the finalists, and good luck to Cory in Orlando!
