EnCompass and www.aaa.com—Your membership brings you six issues of EnCompass magazine a year, and AAA Colorado's website. Online you'll find a 24/7 virtual office for member-only information, a sampling of travel vacations, TripTik maps, insurance and auto information, car sales and leasing, and the Show Your Card & Save member savings program.
In 1932, AAA began offering road maps customized to a member's specific trip that were called TripTiks. By 2000, when TripTiks first became available online, they had evolved into a comprehensive travel planning tool that not only included maps and driving directions but listings of AAA approved auto repair facilities, hotels, restaurants, attractions and road construction locations.
Today, online TripTiks also include location and fuel pricing information for more than 100,000 gas stations nationwide and are just as useful for short, cross-town directions as they are for multi-day road trips. Not many members realize the TripTik Travel Planner can easily be utilized to plot quick directions. To do so, go to www.aaa.com and click on the “Directions” tab under “Plan Your Trip Now.”
“When gas prices rise, people want to be able to take the most efficient route to their destination, and minimize the amount of extra errands that take them out of their way,” says AAA Colorado's webmaster Connie Hawkins. “Online TripTiks can show you the most efficient route, along with gas stations, restaurants, member savings partners and any construction delays you might face.”
