Passport change for minors

The Department of Homeland Security recently announced that, as an alternative to a passport, children up to age 15 traveling with parental consent can use a certified copy of their birth certificate to gain U.S. entry through land and sea borders.

This alternative also applies to U.S. citizens ages 16 to 18 who are traveling with adult supervision as part of school groups, sports teams, and religious or cultural/social organizations.
